What a concept... create a network of profit making health services and insurance; offer a cure for disease and relief from pain in exchange for money. The more money you have, the better your chance to survive or live a normal life. Only in America.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a capitalist, good service should be rewarded with money. I also have money and can afford good health care. I see the rest of the world looking in at our health care debate. They see greed ("I have good health care insuran... (more)

There are 4 new management trainees in my store. They all need to go! There are smart motivated people that work for the company already. Pay them a decent wage and they will take the management positions. Stop farming the jobs out to these idiots who used to work for Steve and Barry's and KB toys. They are the reason the companies they previously worked for went under. I can't get anything done because I have to babysit the trainees. I had an easy job. Now I have to try to teach these idio... So I saw this quick blurb on CNN Headline News this afternoon, about a tussle with some 8th graders in Georgia... Apparently they were texting each other some explicit stuff, and the school and authorities are all up in arms about "When will our kids get the message that sexting is improper use of technology!"
There's a lot of problems with that statement there... First off, you have to realize communication is different nowadays than it was back in the day. I'm sure the people tooting their ... (more)

So I've been hearing on the radio a lot about the new governor from my state, NJ. He's cutting back on the fat that many government institutions have been used to living on for quite some time, and that's exactly what the gov't needs.
The problem comes in when they try to cut back on school budgets. Not to unfairly target the schools, but there is a lot of room to budge there. When I was in high school they were always getting new, expensive things such as running tracks, courtyards, and more... (more)
tl;dr Automatics are in slightly over 90% of cars in the US now.
Quite frankly, this scares the HELL out of me. Automatics should be illegal. I'm very serious, too. They encourage lazier driving, and leave hands free for mobile phones, makeup, eating a huge sandwich, or fondling your sig other. Okay, maybe the last one isn't so bad, but the po... (more)

I heard the plow came through to clear the parking lot behind my apartment. It seemed to be spending more time than usual so I went and watched for a minute.
This plow guy was really going out of his way to hit every spot he could. He would make multiple passes to make sure he got the little bits left over on the previous pass. He left nothing on the ground. Really top notch work.
I have never seen the lot get cleared that well. The typical case is the lot gets two car width lanes cle... (more)

If you think big banks are the chief culprits in the burst of the housing bubble and disasterous economy that followed, please read today's Wall Street Journal "Review & Outlook" on the opinion page titled "Prosecuter, Charge Thyself". (WSJ FEB 8,2010 PGA20) This is a very eye-opening account of how the fault for this economy can be directly tied to the Clinton Administration, Andrew Cuomo, HUD plus Fannie & Freddie. Yes, Bush can take some of the blame for not being more forceful in curbing s... (more)
