It seems there is always something around for the population to be afraid of and be "against". A while back it was Nazis, then Communists, then Terrorists lasted for a while. We got less afraid of terrorists and were no longer controlled.

The latest fear is pandemic. Anthrax and Bird flue came and went and no one stayed scared enough. Swine Flu is at the top of the charts now. We will do anything out of fear. We will abandon thinking and understanding because of fear. People are taking injections and inhalations of substances they know nothing about due to fear.

Yes I am a bit paranoid. That does not mean they are not out to get me.

I worry how easily the majority of a population will so easily accept information without question if it scares them enough. For a few years now, the flu is a feared entity. It is a flu. Everyone gets the flu at some point. It is not the end of the world. This is not cause for panic.

This is not worthy out our undivided attention and perpetual fear. We should not let fear control us. We need to keep thinking and feeling and exploring. Ignore the propaganda. Think for yourself and trust what you learn yourself. Do not let fear erase your own resolve.

Fear opens a door to paths that travel deep into your mind. An idea placed deep in the mind will effect all your other thoughts. Do not let fear allow open access for someone to inject any thought they wish. This is too much control, too much power for anyone to have over you.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Thinking back on my life so far, most all of my own fears have not materialized into the catastrophic events that I envisioned. How many Baby Boomers, as youngsters, went to bed every night thinking the Russians would bomb us and send us all to live the rest of our lives in the bomb shelter Dad built in the basement? Unhealthy fear can paralyze, but healthy fear - those instincts that many humans have lost touch with is good and necessary.

I played in the dirt as a kid; I barely ever get sick/flu/coughs/etc. I see a direct relationship between these two concepts.

Kether's shoutback is right on. Playing outside and in the dirt is just plain healthy - and fun. We need to develop resistance to disease naturally. "Kids Outside" is a topic worthy of a post - to follow.

Agentmge, you have to stop making sense. I've read several of your posts and shout backs and if you keep it up "they" will be after you because "they" went to a lot of trouble/effort to create the morons you are trying to educate.
